Missionaries of the Poor Youth Group

“You have never talked to a mere mortal.  Next to the Blessed Sacrament, your neighbor is the holiest object presented to your senses.  Human beings are the only living creatures with an immortal soul.”  C. S. Lewis

The Missionaries of the Poor Youth Group, also known as MOP Youth, are a Christ-centered group of 6-8 graders who gather one or two times each week to honor the Lord.  Father Ho Lung and his missionary brothers are our inspiration.  As the missionaries serve Christ and his poor around the world, we try to mimic their works here at St. Veronica’s, by serving the poor in our own area, and by volunteering for any other acts of service that come our way.

We also offer an Open Gym for our young members who gather informally to play Basketball, Volleyball and other games …a fun and safe night out.  Our calendar changes based on the primary use by the School, so please check the Bulletin or call one of our leaders for our current schedule.

The main goal of the Juniors is to open the eyes of our children and help guide them onto the Path of Jesus.  Our program encourages young people to form a more intimate relationship with God by bringing them closer to the reality of Christ and his poor through prayer and hands-on service.  All 6-8 graders are welcome to join.

Mission Statement

As baptized Roman Catholic Christians, fully alive in the Holy Spirit, the parish of St Veronica radically proclaims our call to live the gospel of Jesus Christ. United with the Universal Church and centered in the celebration of the Eucharist, we recognize our call to holiness and transformation, leading us to experience a new springtime of evangelization. We strive to make our community a genuine school of prayer, where the faithful may fix their eyes on Christ until their hearts burn within them....
