Bible Study
“We shouldn’t read sacred Scripture as a word from the past, but rather as the Word of God addressed even to us and we must try to understand what the Lord is telling us” Pope Benedict XVI
The study of sacred Scriptures is a way for Catholics seeking a deeper understanding of the richness of our faith to get to know the Living Word that will be read at every single mass throughout our lives. The Bible is the Word of God; the pages contain the history of God’s unfolding interaction with mankind; the Word through which He reveals Himself in story and deed.
The “Come and See” Bible Study is a 22 week program which runs on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month. Attendance is open to both men and women and includes people from many ministries in the parish. One participant told the group that “the Bible Study has rekindled my prayer life and invigorated my zeal for the Lord! I hope my role as a sponsor for the Life in the Spirit seminar will bear fruit!”
The program, “Come and See” Catholic Bible Study, is written by Dr. Laurie Watson Manhardt and Father Joe Ponessa.
