Basic Christian Maturity Series
“You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you, and you will be my witnesses….to the ends of the earth.” Acts 1:8
The Basic Christian Maturity Series is the follow up offered by the Parish each fall, for those who completed the annual Life in the Spirit Seminar within the last three years. The Life in the Spirit Seminar helps us to surrender and come into a personal relationship with Jesus. The Basic Christian Maturity Program answers the question: “How do I now live this renewed Christian life?”
The program begins with an 8 week series of classes, (one evening per week) designed to help us grow spiritually and to learn how to live the Christian life. It is an important part of Adult Catholic Formation here at St. Veronica’s Parish. Each evening opens with Praise and Worship and includes small group participation. Group members sharing their stories and experiencing spiritual growth together, develop important bonds to each other and to their heart-felt goal; an ever-unfolding, deeper Life in the Spirit. Participants explore topics including “Loving God”, “Loving Neighbor”, “Faith”, “Guidance”, “The Flesh”, “Christian Community, “Repairing Wrongdoings” and “Spiritual Warfare”. As each group learns more and more about God, and about themselves, their faith increases. They develop a closer personal relationship with Jesus and become a true “community of believers”. They want MORE! And here at St Veronica Parish, you will always find MORE!
At the conclusion of the initial 8 week introduction to growing in the spirit, most group members elect to continue their “Catholic Formation” and move on together to the next levels of Basic Christian Maturity. Other levels include: The Supernatural Gifts of the Holy Spirit; Healing; Evangelization/Service and the Catechism.
