The Vincentians
“For I was hungry ,and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, a stranger and you welcomed me, naked and you clothed me, ill and you cared for me, in prison and you visited me.” Mt 25:35-36
The Parish of Saint Veronica turns to the Vincentian Committee to provide assistance for families confronted with sudden or unfortunate emergencies. The committee will supply families or individuals in need, with food, clothing, and funds within reasonable requirements. It is not the intention of the Vincentians to duplicate the social services of the township, county, or state, but rather to provide immediate assistance in an emergency. Requests for our assistance can be made by calling the Rectory.
Help is given to all, without consideration of religious affiliation. All aid given is kept completely confidential. If you, a family member, a friend, or neighbor are experiencing hardship, we understand that you may feel reluctant to ask for help. Please contact us. We are here to be of service. Your name and circumstances WILL remain private.
At Thanksgiving and Christmas, the Vincentians give food baskets to the needy of the parish.
The Vincentians also maintain The Food Pantry at the rectory, inviting those who are in need of food assistance to come to us.
Hours of operation:
Monday/Tuesday/Thursday/Friday from 10:00 am to 12 noon and from 1pm to 3 pm. You do not need an appointment.
Donations from our parishioners are most gratefully received. There is an ONGOING NEED for cereal, powdered milk, peanut butter, jelly, rice, canned vegetables, canned fruit, crackers, pork and beans, tuna, soup, spaghetti sauce, pasta and condiments (ketchup, mustard, cooking oil and mayonnaise). Food gifts for the needy can be left in the vestibule of the Church or at the rectory office. Cash gifts can be left at the rectory in the name of the Vincentians or put into the donation box at the rear of the Church.
Parishioners helping parishioners…what better way of sharing the bounty of God than by demonstrating the true meaning of “Love thy neighbor”?
