Stations of the Cross
“We adore thee O Christ and we praise You, because by Your Holy Cross You have redeemed the world.”
Stations of the Cross are held on Fridays during Lent beginning at 7:30 pm, to give thanks for the gift of life given to us by our Savior Jesus Christ through his gift of his death on the cross in reparation to our Father for all the sins committed by His children. The Parish uses “The Way of the Cross”, a beautiful devotion written by St Alphonsus Liguori. As participants meditate on the story of our Lord, we are reminded that as Jesus embraced His cross, so he challenges each of us to do the same. The half-hour devotion includes Night prayers. The service is usually led by a Deacon, assisted by altar servers who carry the cross and two candles to each station. The hymn, “At the Cross Her Station Keeping” is sung. All are welcome to add the Stations of the Cross to their Lenten devotions. Families are encouraged to participate. Everyone is invited to pray the Stations of the Cross privately for their own intentions. We invite you to include in your intentions the unborn, that they may receive the opportunity to live and serve the Lord.
