Respect Life Committee

“I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse.  Choose life, then, that you and your descendants may live.” Deut 30:19

The Mission of “Respect Life” is the conversion of both minds and hearts to the truth of Christ…that all life is sacred from conception to natural death.

The Respect Life Committee is a ministry that supports and promotes pro-family and pro-life issues and activities, working closely with and under the direction of the Family Life/Respect Life Office of the Diocese of Trenton.  Our goals are to raise awareness and encourage greater respect for human life, to educate and remind all of our people that human life is sacred on all levels and to organize activities that will promote respect for all human life.

Our most important activity is prayer for an end to abortion, infanticide, and euthanasia.  We encourage our members to spend an hour a week before Our Lord in the Adoration Chapel, praying for the conversion of all those involved in these deadly practices.  On the first Saturday of the month, the 8 AM Mass is offered for the unborn, followed by the recitation of the Rosary.  On the first Monday of the month, Pope John Paul II’s prayer for the unborn is recited during the Novena to Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal.

During the year we sponsor a number of events, including seminars on pro-life topics (e.g., End of Life Issues), Birthright Showers, and the annual Respect Life Chain held on Respect Life Sunday, the first Sunday in October.  We also make our parishioners aware of any new legislative activities regarding abortion, euthanasia, infanticide, cloning, embryonic stem cell research, etc.  Our Committee hosts an information table with pro-life literature at the Tent Revival at the end of June.

All parishioners are invited to join us as we work and pray to make a difference in countering today’s culture of death.  For more information call Joan and Hu Mador at 732-367-2565 or Email: hmador@optonline.net.

Mission Statement

As baptized Roman Catholic Christians, fully alive in the Holy Spirit, the parish of St Veronica radically proclaims our call to live the gospel of Jesus Christ. United with the Universal Church and centered in the celebration of the Eucharist, we recognize our call to holiness and transformation, leading us to experience a new springtime of evangelization. We strive to make our community a genuine school of prayer, where the faithful may fix their eyes on Christ until their hearts burn within them....
