Pilgrim Statue of Mary Home Visit Programs
“Most blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb. And how does this happen to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?” Luke 1:43
Parishioners are encouraged to participate in our Pilgrim Virgin’s Home Visit Program. A statue of Mother Mary is brought to your home on a scheduled visit that may last from one week to one month through the Legion of Mary or through the First Friday Women’s Gathering. Several statues are constantly journeying around the parish, becoming the center of the Rosary devotions that please Mother Mary so much.
Families are asked to set up a little home shrine where our Blessed Mother’s statue will be placed. A table covering, electric candles or vigil lights, flowers, rosary beads, etc. should be in place. Participants welcome the image of our Blessed Mother into the home, honoring Mary as she is placed at her shrine. Family and friends gather about their Heavenly Mother. It is time to pray.
The Recitation of the Rosary by a family gathering is granted a plenary indulgence when all requirements are met. Recitation of five decades of the Rosary in the group; the vocal recitation must be accompanied by pious meditation on the mysteries. To fulfill the conditions to gain a plenary indulgence the following must be completed: sacramental confession, Eucharist Communion and prayer for the intentions of the Pope, one Our Father, one Hail Mary and one Glory Be.
